As a Packaging Leader in the sub-region, FILTISAC, represented by the CEO, Mr. Ibrahima Charles Amadou, participated on September 30 and October 1, 2019 in the annual cotton meeting in Deauville in France, the city where was founded the association in 1890.
This ceremony organized by AFCOT (Associations Cotonnières Françaises) is part of the festivities marking its 129 years of existence. The association has nearly 60 member companies and has five fundamental objectives:
- Promote respect for contracts;
- Develop the European General Regulations;
- Constitute a place of exchange;
- Promote cotton;
- Defend the interests of cotton professionals.
This meeting was an opportunity for the CEO to learn, share experiences and strengthen commercial ties with powerful players in this sector, estimated at 300 guests from five continents. Tuesday began with a seminar offered by the French Cotton Associations (AFCOT) and African (ACA).
Discussions were chaired by AFCOT President Mr. Curt Arbenz and ACA First Vice President Mr. Ibrahim MALLOUM. Michael EDWARDS, director at Cotton Outlook, Mr. Younoussa IMOROU, Technical Advisor for CMiA and Mr. Wilfried. YAMEOGO, Director General of SOFITEX, have in turn dealt with subjects which are at the heart of the concerns of the cotton world.
The afternoon was devoted to meetings, before all participants gathered for the early evening cocktail, followed by the gala dinner. While thanking all the guests and particularly the speakers for the quality and interest aroused by their presentation, the President and the Management Committee of AFCOT made an appointment in October 2020 in Mont Carlo (Monaco ).
