On Monday September 28, 2020, following a call for tenders won by FILTISAC, the symbolic handing over of the crates from the hands of Mr. Jean DOUZA, the representative of the Ambassador of the Union, took place within the company. European, to the players in the Banana Dessert sector represented by MM Gabriel OUIDI (OCAB), Sébastien De JAHAM (BACIBAM), Nicola VALENTIN (SIAPA SA).

Through the speeches of the representative of the Ambassador of the European Union, that of OCAB, as well as of the Director General of FILTISAC, all praised the support of the European Union towards the Banana Dessert sector as well as the efforts of the Ivorian government.

This ceremony is the culmination of a European Union funding project of 45 million euros to support the Banana Dessert Sector at the local and sub-regional level with a view to improving competitiveness. This funding will improve the working conditions of planters, by developing a good banana packaging system using modern crates manufactured by FILTISAC, instead of the wooden ones currently used by planters.

It has the advantage of keeping the banana well in the best conditions until the end customer. As a reminder, there is 100,000 tonnes of banana loss for producers recorded each year, due to poor storage and transport conditions. This new packaging system therefore has the advantage of preserving the banana well, without being crushed, of knowing the actual quantity transported while respecting the environment and good practices for sustainable agriculture.

This project will also help maintain jobs in the sector, provide a healthier working environment for producers and support companies such as FILTISAC. Congratulations to the Sales and Marketing Department team
